Dermaplaning

West Bridgford, Nottingham

Dermaplaning is a professional exfoliation treatment designed to instantly smooth and brighten the complexion. At The A Clinic in West Bridgford, Nottingham, dermaplaning gently removes dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (often called peach fuzz) using a sterile, specialist blade, leaving skin looking fresher, more radiant and beautifully polished.

It is an excellent choice if your skin feels dull, rough or congested, and it is also ideal before an event, as it helps makeup sit more seamlessly and can enhance the way your skincare applies.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Dermaplaning is a manual exfoliation treatment that removes the build-up of dead skin cells and fine facial hair from the surface of the skin. It helps improve smoothness and radiance and supports a more even-looking complexion.

Your clinician will cleanse and prepare the skin, then use a sterile, specialist blade with controlled technique to exfoliate the surface. Calming products are applied afterwards, along with aftercare guidance.

Dermaplaning is generally well tolerated, but some clients experience temporary redness, mild sensitivity or dryness afterwards. It may not be suitable for actively inflamed acne or certain skin conditions, which we will assess during consultation.

We will provide personalised guidance, but typically you should:

  • Avoid exfoliating acids and retinoids for a short period before treatment (as advised)

  • Avoid sun exposure and wear SPF

  • Let us know about any active breakouts, irritation or skin conditions

Skin often looks immediately smoother and brighter. Results can last several weeks, and many clients maintain the effect with regular treatments and a consistent skincare routine.
